The biggest pain the DVD rental business are customers who just do not return. They simply eat up a DVD forever, unnecessarily blocking revenues and creating unwarranted shortages. If sufficient users switch on to this mode, it can be disastrous for your business.
A smart and efficient Video DVD rental software can prevent this from happening, or at least always keep you in the loop for all the trouble creators. Every time you create a rental plan, a delivery rule is defined ( how many days after which movie must be returned). Based on this information the systems creates a list of all the users who have missed their return dates. This list is updated daily and number of days overdue is also displayed. Late fee rules can also be attached to this report. You can define rules in the system that the user cannot rent till the DVD is returned. Or if the situation calls for it you can adjust the fee against the initial deposit and block the customer account.
Apart from this some users may want to temporarily not rent and in turn not be charged. For this an account suspension feature is provided. During suspension they cant rent movies and hence are not charged the monthly rental.
